Village and Community Updates
DESTINATION PRESERVATION. Updating Lake Bluff's historic preservation rules may help better preserve and transmit its architectural history. The Historic Preservation Commission has prepared a slate of proposed changes and wants to hear your views.

Board and Committee Actions

Agendas and meeting materials are typically available the Friday before a meeting; videos within a week after the meeting; and minutes after they are approved at the next meeting of the public body. Not all meetings are recorded on video. Due to the COVID-19 emergency, meetings are primarily virtual. Click here for details on the format and how to participate.
The Historic Preservation Commission regular meeting on Wednesday, September 9 was cancelled.
Upcoming Village Board Meeting (Monday, September 14, 7 p.m.) The Village Board will:
- Honor the public service of Fire Department member Bill Goodman.
- Consider:
- Extending the Village's declaration of emergency.
- Authorizing a fence in a conservation area at 301 Belle Foret.
- Approving the replacement of parking lot lighting at the Target development (945-975 Rockland Road).
- Approving building alterations for JC Licht at 413 W. Washington Ave.
- A license agreement to use Village property for bluff stabilization.
- A snow removal contract with TGF Enterprises of Libertyville, Illinois.
- Endorsing the Community Solar Clearinghouse, a program of the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus, for Village residents and businesses.
Upcoming Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals Meeting (Wednesday, September 16, 7 p.m.) The PCZBA will consider:
- Text amendments necessary for the Zoning Regulations to match pending changes to the Village's historic preservation regulations.
- A side yard setback variation at 714 Birch Rd. to allow the construction of a natural gas generator.
- A special use permit and variations at 39-47 Sherwood Terrace to allow the operation of a new automobiles dealership.
- A special use permit and variations at 28-38 E. Center Ave. and 53-91 E. Scranton Ave. to allow Prairie Espresso to expand into the tenant space addressed as 79 E. Scranton Ave., as well as other changes.
- A workshop regarding accessory dwelling units (such as "granny flats").
