COVID-19 Updates
RESTORE ILLINOIS. On May 5th, Governor Pritzker released Restore Illinois, a five-phase regionalized public health plan to reopen the state. Our region is currently in Phase 2, and restrictions may relax based on public health criteria including the rate of positive COVID-19 tests, hospital admissions for COVID-19, and the availability of surge capacity for hospitals. Click for more information.
STAY HOME CONTINUES. The Stay at Home order continues through May 29. You should continue to stay home as much as possible and not socially gather; wear face coverings when outside the home; and maintain at least six feet of distance from members of other households. We're all getting a little restless, but following the rules is critical to stop COVID-19 and make sure we can safely resume businesses and public life in June.
GROOT RESTORES BULK PICKUP. Beginning Monday, Groot will once again collect bulk items, white goods, and e-waste starting next week. Residents should continue to securely bag waste in their garbage containers.
DON'T GET STUCK ON STICKERS. New and renewal vehicle stickers are postponed. No household has been mailed a renewal application. You will not receive a ticket for displaying an expired sticker.
METRA SCHEDULE CHANGES. Metra will reduce weekend service due to continued ridership reductions from COVID-19.
