It is with great sadness we share with you that Christine Letchinger passed away from cancer on April 15. A native of France, Christine was a 33-year resident of the Village and served on the Board of Trustees for 14 years, including two terms as Village President (2005-2013). She also served on the boards of Lake Bluff School District #65 and the Lake Bluff Mosquito Abatement District.

Lake Bluff Strong

Local residents have launched a new website, LakeBluffStrong.com, to provide our community with local news and information related to COVID-19. Lake Bluff Strong has news, volunteer resources, and activity ideas while you're staying at home. They want to hear and share your stories.

Village and Community Updates

FAMILY MATTERS. Lake Bluff School District #65 requests donations of $10 and $20 Jewel Osco and Heinen's gift cards for District families in need. Donations may be delivered to the Lake Bluff Elementary School cafeteria door between 9:00 and 9:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays. 
SHOP LOCAL. Our local businesses may be closed, but we haven't forgotten about them. Restaurants continue to provide takeout and have recently been authorized by the Village to sell packaged liquor, beer, and wine. Finally, the Chamber of Commerce is selling gift certificates for local businesses.
BOOKWORM. The Lake Bluff Library can give you a library card, some e-books, and some seeds for your garden to help you pass the time.

Agendas and meeting materials are typically available the Friday before a meeting; videos within a week after the meeting; and minutes after they are approved at the next meeting of the public body. Not all meetings are recorded on video.

• Extended the Village's state of emergency concerning COVID-19.
• Adopted supplemental rules concerning public comment at virtual Village meetings.
• Appointed W. Michael Hosking as the Village's Chief of Police and approved his employment agreement.
• Approved public works contracts for engineering services, street improvements, sidewalk replacements, and water valve and hydrant replacement.
• Approved a special use permit and variations for a proposed English pub at the rear of 103-113 East Scranton Avenue.
• Gave first reading approval to:
  • Amendments to the current (FY2020) budget.
  • The new biennial budget concurrent with opening a public hearing for the budget.
  • Incentives for electric vehicles and sustainable building projects in the Village's fee schedule.
