Recent Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals Special Meeting (February 19, 6 p.m.). The PCZBA:
- Held a preliminary workshop for a proposed 12-unit development at 500 Arden Shore Road, along Lake Michigan.
- Recommended the Village Board approve a requested special use permit, setback variation, and parking variation that would allow an English pub to open at the rear of 103-113 East Scranton Avenue.
- Recommended the Village Board extend the Village's short-term rental pilot program by one year.
- Recommend the Village Board make no change to the height restrictions applicable to Planned Mixed-Use Developments and Block Three of the Central Business District.
Upcoming Finance Committee Meeting (February 24, 6 p.m.). The Committee will discuss the preliminary Fiscal Year 2021-2022 biennial budget, including strategic plan initiatives and a review of the water fund.
Upcoming Village Board Meeting (February 24). The Village Board will:
- Receive reports regarding:
- The Congress of New Urbanism - Illinois' awards recognizing two downtown businesses.
- The PCZBA's recommendations as to the height restrictions applicable to Planned Mixed-Use Developments and Block Three of the Central Business District.
- Consider approval of:
- The appointment of Elrod Friedman, LLP as Village Attorney.
- A construction contract for sanitary sewer lining.
- Extending the Village's short-term rental pilot program by one year.
Upcoming Beach Erosion Ad Hoc Committee (February 26, 6:30 p.m.). The Committee will discuss funding options and prioritization of erosion control improvements at Sunrise Park and Beach.
Upcoming Sustainability and Community Enhancement Ad Hoc Committee (February 27, 6:30 p.m.). The SEC will consider renewals of the Village's two chicken pilot program permits at 100 E. North Ave. / 36 E. North Ave. and 517 Lincoln Ave.
