"Giants in the Park, Part II: Unveiling the Histories Behind Lincoln Park's Monumental Art"

Thursday, October 24, 2019, 12:00pm -  2:00pm

Enjoy a simple lunch and then an intriguing lecture with presenter, Krista August.

Lincoln Park, Chicago's north side playground, is populated with bronze giants of history and literature - 17 vintage portrait statues in all. Using historical photographs and book highlights, Part II presents the histories behind Kennison Boulder, Franklin Schiller, Altgeld, Hamilton, and the recently reinstalled Charitas, with minor mentions of the missing Magnus Andersen bust and Sphinx statues. Park history is covered as well.
