COVID-19 Updates
FACE COVERINGS REQUIRED NOW. While face coverings will be mandatory statewide on May 1, you must wear a covering while in Lake Bluff's public places now under most circumstances. Click here to view yesterday's announcement with more details. Here are some frequently asked questions...
Q: Why is the Village issuing this order now?
A: Face coverings are a simple and effective way to reduce the spread of COVID-19. They will help us to safely resume business and public life under the Governor's revised Stay at Home order.
Q: Where can I get a face covering?
A: Many retailers are starting to sell selling purpose-made face coverings, or the CDC has directions on how to make your own. In the meantime, you can use a scarf or bandanna tied securely around your face. Do not use medical masks or respirators, as these are needed for medical response. More information about face coverings is available here.
Q: I'm confused. At what age do children need to wear masks?
A: The Village's order requires children 5 and older to wear face coverings in public. Starting May 1, the statewide order will reduce that threshold to ages 2 and older. No one needs to wear face coverings when engaging in outdoor recreation where you can stay at least six feet from other household members.
STAY HOME CONTINUES. The Governor announced yesterday that the Stay at Home order will remain in effect through May 31 with some modifications. You should continue to avoid social gatherings and maintain six feet of distance from members of other households.
FOURTH OF JULY. The 4th of July Committee has made the difficult decision to cancel this year's Parade.
SPRING CLEANING CHANGES. The May semi-annual collection has been cancelled. You can still drop off many items at the Village's Recycling Center.
DON'T GET STUCK ON STICKERS. New and renewal vehicle stickers are postponed. You will not receive a ticket for displaying an expired sticker.
Village and Community Updates
LAKE BLUFF STRONG. Local residents have launched a new website, LakeBluffStrong.com. to provide our community with local news and information related to COVID-19.
FAMILY MATTERS. Lake Bluff School District #65 requests donations of $10 and $20 Jewel Osco and Heinen's gift cards for District families in need. Donations may be delivered to the Lake Bluff Elementary School cafeteria door between 9:00 and 9:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays.

BOOKWORM. The Lake Bluff Library can give you a library card, some e-books, and some seeds for your garden to help you pass the time.
HAPPY TRAILS. Today is Ron Salski's last day at the Lake Bluff Park District. He has served for nearly 12 years as the District's executive director. Congratulations and good luck, Ron!
