Message from Village President Kathleen O'Hara

Our Village, in the midst of these unprecedented times, sits on the edge of the center of positive COVID-19 cases for Lake County.
To protect our families and neighbors, Lake Bluff must be even more vigilant in making sure we adhere to the Governor’s Stay At Home Order and strictly follow the common sense guidelines to slow the spread of this insidious and potentially deadly virus.
As our history has shown us, in difficult times we have always come together for the common good. In the last few weeks we have seen many examples of this, whether it is supporting our local restaurants, checking on our vulnerable friends and neighbors, or just staying at home and enjoying our families. This truly shows the character of our Village which we are all so proud of.
Take care of yourselves and loved ones. We are all counting on you.
COVID-19 Updates
Lake Bluff remains under the mandatory statewide "Stay at Home" order until at least Tuesday, April 7, 2020. Many people are familiar with what the order requires, but we emphasize that social gatherings of any size place our community in danger whether they are occurring in public parks or private homes.
Lake County Health Department today announced the first deaths of area residents as a result of COVID-19. The Department has also released developed a dashboard that shows the number of laboratory-conformed cases in each municipality. There are likely more cases that have gone undetected. Take these risks seriously and stay home.
Village and Community Updates
SHOP LOCAL. The Chamber of Commerce is selling gift certificates for local businesses. Help our favorites keep going until we can walk in their doors again.
TAX TIME. Both the Federal government and the State of Illinois have extended the filing deadline for 2019 income taxes until July 15, 2020.
BOARD MEETING. The Village Board will hold a meeting on April 13 at 7 p.m. to conduct time-sensitive business, including consideration of the FY2020-2022 budget.
BLOOD BANK. Blood donations are down due to the COVID-19 emergency but are still needed in our hospitals. Lake Bluff's own Vitalant is accepting donors by appointment. Please consider scheduling a donation.
DON'T GET STUCK ON STICKERS. New and renewal vehicle stickers are postponed due to the COVID-19 emergency. You will not receive a ticket for displaying an expired sticker.
CENSUS. The COVID-19 emergency means that someone may not be knocking on your door - but it is still important that you are counted in the 2020 Census. Our counted population affects our elections and access to funds for the next decade.
