HELP WANTED. Want to be more involved in the community? The Lake Bluff 4th of July Committee is the all-volunteer, non-profit organization that hosts the annual Lake Bluff 4th of July Parade. Planning and running the parade is no small feat and there is always a need for more volunteers. Recent Historic Preservation Commission Meeting (October 9). The HPC discussed progress regarding its historic preservation plan, Choosing Lake Bluff, including possible changes to the historic preservation ordinance.
Upcoming Finance Committee Meeting (October 14). The Village Board's Finance Committee will discuss:
- Financial participation in a proposed Lake Forest senior affordable housing project.
- Village document management practices.
- Police pension funding approaches.
Upcoming Village Board Meeting (October 14). The Village Board will consider:
- Proclaiming October as Dysautonomia Awareness Month.
- Proclaiming October 23-31 as Red Ribbon Week.
- Accepting the FY2019 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.
- Refinancing $990,000 of outstanding Village bonds to capture interest rate savings of approximately $29,000.
- Granting a once-weekly, 15 minute extension of the operating hours of the Blair Park Paddle Tennis facility to accommodate league play.
- Changing the zoning code to establish new permitted and special uses within the L-1 Light Industry District; change the treatment of physical fitness facilities based on square footage; and change the interpretation of SIC codes in the zoning use table in all districts.
- Purchasing new multifunction copiers.
- Affirming a prohibition on recreational cannabis businesses within the Village.
The October 16 meeting of the Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals is cancelled. The PCZBA and the Architectural Board of Review will meet Wednesday, October 30 at 7 p.m. to conduct a Missing Middle housing workshop. Click for details.
