WALK, RUN, AUTO FUN. The Lake Bluff History Museum Auto Show is tomorrow, Saturday, June 22. Downtown will be closed to through traffic starting at 1 p.m. Additionally, the Park District's GO Color Run will occur Saturday morning in the Metra train station lot.
GREEN BAY ROAD RECONSTRUCTION OPEN HOUSE. On June 24 from 5-7 p.m. in the Public Safety Building Community Room, the Village will hold an open house regarding the upcoming reconstruction of Green Bay Road south of Route 176 including roadway, pedestrian, utility, and stormwater improvements. All are welcome to attend. Representatives from the Village of Lake Bluff will be available to answer individual questions. Individuals who are unable to attend the meeting may submit comments to:

PATRIOTIC DUTY. Lake Bluff's 4th of July Parade is run totally by volunteers - and they need your help! Can you can contribute a few hours on July 3 or July 4 to this community celebration? Some positions end as early as 10:15 a.m. to allow you to enjoy the parade with your family. CONGRESS ON YOUR CORNER. U.S. Representative Brad Schneider will host a Q&A session at Village Hall on Saturday, July 13 from 10 to 11 a.m.
SPREAD SOME SEED. The Lake Bluff Public Library has a Seed Library where you can pick up FREE seeds for your home garden including native and sustainable species. The Seed Library is supported by Pasquesi Home and Garden, the Village, Lake Bluff Open Lands Association, Elawa Farm, and the Friends of the Lake Bluff Library.
Recent Board and Committee Actions
Upcoming Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals Meeting (June 19). The PCZBA:
- Recommended the Village Board approve a variation necessary to allow part of the enlargement of the commercial parking lot at 101 Waukegan Road, but to deny a variation necessary to relocate a smoking shelter as part of the project.
- Recommended the Village Board approve a request for subdivision and variations related to the exchange of a parcel of land among 617 East Prospect Avenue and 454 East Simpson Avenue.
- Discussed use regulations in the L-1 Light Industry district.
Upcoming Finance Committee Meeting (June 24, 6 p.m.). The Finance Committee will discuss:
- The sale of bonds to finance water meter replacement, water main replacement, and related improvements.
- The Lake Bluff Library's capital fundraising campaign.
- A request to contribute funds towards an affordable senior housing project in Lake Forest.
- Possible enrollment Village electricity accounts in a community solar array.
Upcoming Village Board Meeting (June 24). The Village Board will consider:
- Issuing approximately $1.9 million in bonds for water system projects including water meter replacement.
- A resolution concerning the regulation of recreational cannabis businesses.
- Easement agreements with three property owners for storm sewer improvements.
- A contract for roof coating and skylight replacement at the public works garage.
- A professional services agreement for engineering services related to sewer lift station improvements.
- A front yard setback variation to allow construction of an open front porch at 407 East Prospect Avenue.
- Floor area and side yard setback variations to allow construction of a kitchen addition and relocation of an air conditioner at 224 East Center Avenue.
- A sign exemption request at 303 Waukegan Road (Tacos El Norte).
- First reading approval of:
- A subdivision and related variations at 454 Simpson Avenue and 617 East Prospect Avenue.
- A site plan for commercial parking lot expansion and related zoning relief at 101 Waukegan Road.
